Mr. William Behlin (Willie), son to the late Daisy and Pete Behlin was born on June 25, 1930 in Allendale, South Carolina. In 1938, Willie, along with the family relocated to Brooklyn, New York.
At an early age Willie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He attended Behlin Holy Temple in Brooklyn, New York under the leadership of his uncle, the late James Behlin. As a young adult, he joined Solid Rock Garden of Prayer Church in Brooklyn, New York under the leadership of his mother the late Rev. Daisy Behlin. He later united with the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in 1994 in Denver, Colorado under the pastorage of Rev. R.J. Taylor, and remained a loyal and faithful member for 26 years.
With a thirst for education and knowledge, Willie attended New York City Public Schools where he excelled in all subjects. At age 17 he joined the United States Air Force and served for more than 24 years in active duty with much of his time serving in Japan. In Japan, he would meet and marry his first wife Kazuko Konagai on February 12, 1957. Before retiring from the military, he would amass an impressive amount of certifications and certificates for training at Air University where he graduated with a diploma in Introduction to Statistical Analysis Specialist. He retired as a Master Sergeant and the first black Computer Analyst in the USAF.
After retirement from the military, Willie settled in Denver Colorado and worked until his retirement at National Farmers Insurance Company as a Computer Analyst until his retirement on February 26, 1993. He later married his long-time close friend of more than 30 years, Terrie Meade, on September 13, 2012 and enjoyed living a life of leisure with her until they moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where he lived until he transitioned to his eternal life on July 28, 2020.
Willie was preceded in death by his brother, Peter, his sister, Lillie Mae and his first wife, Kazuko.
He leaves to cherish and remember his beloved wife, Terrie; Four sisters-in-law, Vivian(Johnnie), Ruby(Prince), Shirley(William) and Joyce; One brother-in-law, Ronald; Two very special nephews, Ricardo and Wendell; Niece, Sherry and great niece Terry Nicole; Four step-children, 11 step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, great and great grands.

A funeral service for Mr. Behlin will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Boston's - Roseboro's Mortuary, 4300 Statesville Rd., Charlotte, NC 28269. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM.
Repass will be held following the Celebration of Life at the Behlin Residence at 11517 Allen A. Brown Road. Please note that masks and social distancing will be required for everyone's protection.
