Jhonson Fitzgerald Manassa was born on December 3, 1963 to the union of James Manassa and Olivia Patton in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Jhonson received his public education in the Worcester, MA public school system. He furthered his education at Fisher college in Boston, MA. He then went on to attend Stratford Institute of Culinary Arts in Johnson, VT and graduated with an Associates of Arts in Culinary Science.
Jhonson accepted Christ as his savior at an early age and was united with the Baptist religion.
Jhonson Fitzgerald Manassa was united in holy matrimony with Maria Pina-Manassa on June 9, 2020 in Charlotte, NC. Their union was blessed with 2 children.
Jhonson enlisted into the United States Marines as an E-3 Lance Corple. He was honorably discharged in 1982. He was later self-employed as a floor installer and chef.
In his leisure, he enjoyed drawing, painting, designing and making clothing, and writing songs and poetry.
Jhonson Fitzgerald Manassa departed this life on June 28, 2020.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Maria Pina-Manassa; Children, Jhonson Fitzgerald Manassa, Jr., Simone Charles Manassa, Shavanya Cherraya Manassa, and Andre Reid; Grandchildren, Jelese Manassa, Tyeast Manassa, Simone Manassa, Roman Manassa, Shaune Manassa, and Brayden Manassa, Jr.; Parents, Olivia Patton and James Manassa; Siblings, April Duncan, Cedric Manassa, and Rufus Golightly; Family members, Lamont Golightly, Naviah Manassa, Ciera Manassa, Cedric Manassa, Jr., and many cousins and family in Massachusetts and Alabama.
A memorial service for Mr. Manassa will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Boston's - Roseboro's Mortuary, 4300 Statesville Road, Charlotte, NC 28269.
