Betty "Gwynn" Medlin Cannon, 67, of Cherryville, NC, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on February 15, 2021. Gwynn was born September 23, 1953, to the late Jarvis Medlin and Mary "Lib" Griffin Ethridge. In addition to her parents, Gwynn was preceded in death by her son, Gary, and sister, Teresa Ocasio.

Betty "Gwynn" Medlin Cannon, 67, of Cherryville, NC, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on February 15, 2021. Gwynn was born September 23, 1953, to the late Jarvis Medlin and Mary "Lib" Griffin Ethridge. In addition to her parents, Gwynn was preceded in death by her son, Gary, and sister, Teresa Ocasio.
Gwynn is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Alan, Sr, sons, Alan, Jr, and Casey Cannon, and daughter, Wendy Duvall and husband, Chad. She leaves behind cherished grandsons, Alan, III, Drew, Zach, Kolbey, Jaxson, and Seth, and siblings Steve, Bobby, and Danny Medlin, and Beverly Lang.
Gwynn is well-known for her love of children, having dedicated her career to early childhood education and advocating for the advancement of all individuals with disabilities. The only love she had that was greater than her love for her family was certainly her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, who assuredly greets her in heaven with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
At her request, there will be no formal service. The family asks that you honor her memory by spreading love in the world. In lieu of flowers, she requested any donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital to allow them to continue to provide live-saving services at no charge.

The Cannon Family has entrusted arrangements to Boston's-Roseboro's Mortuary.
