Mrs. Martha Ann Ball, 74, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019.
Martha Ann Hanson Ball was born on February 4, 1945, to the union of Malcolm and Julia Hanson in New York, NY.
Martha received her formal education at George Washington High School in New York.
In April 1965, Martha was united in holy matrimony to Bernard Ball. Their union was blessed with one child.
During Martha’s early years, she was employed by Woolworth as a Retail Supervisor. Here she devoted 30 years managing day to day operations and being a source of motivation for those who worked with her until retiring in 1997. After retirement, Martha continued working for an additional 10 years at Eckerd Pharmacy.
Martha touched everyone around her. She always looked to make those around her smile and because of this, many people were drawn to her spirit. heart was big and full of love. Martha leaves behind one daughter, five grandchildren, and six-great-grandchildren.
Martha eventually relocated from New York to Charlotte, North Carolina, she spent most of her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was everything to Martha. She thought the world of them and they considered her their shining sun in the sky.
Martha Ann Hanson Ball departed this life March 7, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Hubbert Ball; and brothers, William and Robert Hanson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Theresa Ann Hanson-Patrick; five grandchildren, Latoya Hanson, Shavon Hanson, Michael Hanson, Robert Hanson, and Keresa Walker; six great-grandchildren, Christyle Sinclair, Benjamin Morris, Jacque Morris, Alleigh Propst, Maliyah Hanson, and Sage Taylor; nieces, Latisha Hanson, Alesha Hanson and Kelly Ann Hanson; nephew, Peter Hanson; and a host of other loving family and friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Martha Ball will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019, at Boston's Mortuary 4300 Statesville Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28269. The visitation will begin at 12:00 PM and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment immediately following service at Beatties Ford Memorial Gardens 11201 Beatties Ford Road, Huntersville, North Carolina 28078.
