Juanita Victoria Gross,74, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018. Juanita Victoria Gross was born on May 14, 1944, to Mr. & Mrs. Thurlow Marcellous Johns in Annapolis, Maryland.
Juanita received her formal education at Wiley H. Bates High School in Annapolis, Maryland.
Juanita accepted Christ as a her savior at an early age. She was member of Mount Olive AME Church in Annapolis, MD, where she served as an usher.
Upon relocating to Charlotte, Juanita found a new church home with New Emmanuel Congregational Church. There she was an active member serving on the Usher Board, leading youth groups at vacation bible school, volunteered with Loaves & Fishes, and was a member of the Praise Dance Ministry.
Juanita was employed by Anne Arundel Medical Center as a Dietary Supervisor. She faithfully worked there for more than 25 years until her retirement.
Juanita leaves to cherish her life and memory daughters, Ursula Andino and Teresa Gross; son, Carlos Gross; grandchildren, Nakia DeJesus, Faisa Hussein, James Nowlin, and Xavier Hussein; sisters, Daisy G. Johns, Hattie L. Johns, and Dorothy A. Johns; brothers, John M. Johns and Thurlow H. Johns; and lots of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Boston's Mortuary 4300 Statesville Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28269.
The Gross Family have entrusted her care to Boston's Mortuary.
