Jeanette Lynn Ellerbe, 62, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019.
Jeanette Lynn Hussey Ellerbe was born on February 27, 1957, to the union of Shirley Mae Black and Sherman Junior Hussey in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.
She received her formal education from West Philadelphia High School in Philadelphia, PA, and furthered her education at Barbar Scotia College in Concord, NC and Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, NC.
Jeanette was employed as a teacher in the Moore County School System and at First Health of the Carolinas in their child development center.
In her leisure, Jeanette enjoyed going to the beach, watching football and college basketball. She also enjoyed listening to music by artist such as Aretha Franklin and the Isley Brothers. Most of all, she loved spending time with her daughters and her grandchildren.
Jeanette Lynn Hussey Ellerbe departed this life on November 21, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman J. Hussey and Shirley M. Hussey.
She leaves to cherish her sweet memory, daughters, Jeanette Lashelle Pearson, Jennifer Camelle Washington, and April Nicole Shepherd; four grandchildren, Andrew Michael Shepherd, Delilah Jade Pearson, Nadia Sai Washington, and Christian Reese Washington; sister, Brenda Joyce Peterson; two nieces, Cheryl Anne Peterson and LaKisa Maria Carter; one great-niece, Tekoa Cymone Carter; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Jeanette was the matriarch of her family. The gentle voice of a loving mother and the sweet embrace of her love will cherished and missed. She will always be in our heart.
A funeral service to Celebrate the Life of Mrs. Ellerbe will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Boston's Mortuary, 4300 Statesville Road Charlotte, NC. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and the funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM.
Interment immediately following service at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, 1504 Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262.
