CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA
January 4, 2000 - July 15, 2018
Jamie Millen Dayquan Bright is the third oldest child born on January 4, 2000 to Lakeker Bright and Torrance Stinson in Bennettsville, South Carolina. He departed this life on July 15, 2018 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
At a very early age Jamie was led to Christ by his mother. In the year 2004 the family relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina and Jamie was enrolled in the public schools there. Jamie united with The Park Church in the year 2007. Jamie grew up in a loving family, enjoying the blessings of a close family bond with his brother and sisters. As Jamie grew and nurtured under his mother’s care and tutelage, he developed a great love for football, where he eventually played for the state champion Harding High School football team. He played linebacker and his number was 57. While a student at Harding, Jamie took advantage of a great opportunity to join the Y Achievers Mentoring program, of which he loved. Jamie was also employed by the West Blvd Neighborhood Coalition, Charlotte, North Carolina.
Jamie was well loved by his family and sought to be an encourager, protector, and peacemaker. At the same time, he also acquired a love for music with his favorite rapper being Kevin Gates. His younger brother saw him as his role model, as one who could lead the way. His sisters saw him as quiet strength and as protector, goofy and layed back. His mother saw him as her “golden child.” He was different from her other children in that he was very wise and humble and easy to get along with. He loved watching Discovery Channel and soon acquired a love for animals of all kinds and one day he shared with his mother and family that he desired to be a veterinarian.
Preceding him in death was his great grandfather, Marvin Bright and his Aunt, Jackie Bright.
Jamie leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Lakeker Bright, two sisters, Mardesha Bright and Tynisha Bright, one brother, Jamar Bright all of Charlotte, North Carolina; maternal grandparents, Marjorie Bright, Bennetsville, South Carolina and Robert Lee Covington, Cheraw, South Carolina; paternal grandfather, David Boulware, Charlotte, North Carolina; one aunt, Iesha Marvette Bright, one uncle, James Calvin Quick, Jr., Charlotte, North Carolina; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
